Creating a new gallery at Imageshack, as time allows

Kind of an indirect fundraising concept - one creates a gallery of public images, seen only on one's Imageshack profile, where Imageshack could, in principle, host ads and make money off of them. Those images which are seen on other pages are marked "private", so that the visitor's time is not wasted looking at images he has already seen elsewhere.

Not much to see there yet, but this will be the url: http://profile.imageshack.us/user/joseph_dunphy.

No more posts to this livejournal, most likely

I'll still probably use this membership in order to post comments to other livejournals, but for reasons explained in this post to my googlegroup, I almost certainly will not post to my own livejournal again, and will be cutting most of my links to it. Bad enough that other users are being left to answer support tickets and those other users have decided to make their own realities, but when one encounters the attitude that I'm somehow obligated to cooperatively share in their hallucinations, so that they may feel properly validated? Forget it. That's more insanity than I'm willing to sit through. I'll be posting to my soapbox and The Green Tortoise and Other Travesties, instead. (Revised on Nov.19, url and titles changed in order to reflect reorganization forced by impending Yahoo 360 closing)

    John Edwards is Feeling Pretty

Mildly amusing, and an opportunity for Edwards to show a lot more class than some of his semi-anonymous detractors, which he did.

My thanks to the Youtube users RogerRmjet and wnycradio for posting these videos.

Hi, there. Not sure of what comes after this.

I've created this account mainly so that I can reply to posts on other livejournals, but I am considering this as a possible successor to my fairly new Yahoo 360 blog. The look and feel are reasonably nice - no denying that Yahoo is great at doing layouts - but the software has some frustrating limitations, which became an issue when I tried to get my blog there listed with Technorati. I'm not quite at the point at which I'm about to jump ship, but I am feeling frustrated and wondering how much more frustrated I'm going to become.

Other than that, though, I'm sure I'll find some use for this place or another.
